Indian Harbour Beach Real Estate

IHB is still young, as far as cities go, at 60. The City of Indian Harbour Beach, Florida, was developed as a residential community in support of the growing space industry and activities at nearby Kennedy Space Center, from which humans first traveled to the moon.  Fairly small as cities go, it is only two miles square, and about 8,200 citizens call it home. Of diverse backgrounds and all ages, residents enjoy an ideal location on the east coast of central Florida, nestled between the beautiful blue Atlantic Ocean and the calm waters of the Indian River Lagoon. 

Visitors can relax or picnic at beachfront parks or stroll through the 27-acre Gleason Park surrounding a lake with its many exercise paths, lighted in the early evening by quaint Victorian lights. 

Community

Indian Harbour Beach has a secluded location between the Intracoastal waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. As such, the small community members of this tiny beach town know and look out for one another.

Schools

Indian Habour Beach has one public elementary school, Ocean Breeze Elementary, and Indian Harbour Montessori private school that covers preK through grade 6.

Students moving on from Ocean Breeze Elementary may attend DeLaura Middle School in Satellite Beach, Herbert Hoover Middle School in Indialantic, and Satelitte High School in Satellite Beach. All four schools are also part of Brevard County Schools.

Points of Interest

The Algonquin Sports Complex provides facilities and playing fields for senior baseball, Little League, softball, and soccer teams serving multiple age groups.

The Eau Gallie Causeway connects Indian Harbour Beach and the Eau Gallie neighborhood of Melbourne.

Founded in 1907, the Eau Gallie Yacht Club moved to its current location in Indian Harbour Beach in 1960. Centered around a deepwater marina that accommodate yachts up to 55 feet, the Eau Gallie Yacht Club is situated at the mouth of the Banana River in a safe harbor adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterway.  

The Kiwi Tennis Club in Indian Harbour Beach has 13 lit courts, 9 of which are clay, a full-service pro shop, fitness room, banquet rooms, and much more.  

Indian Harbour Beach Communities

Lansing Island – This private, secluded, luxury gated waterfront community is a homeowner’s dream come true! Surrounded by the gleaming waters of the Banana River to the west and the Grand Canal to the east, the wildlife, flora, and fauna offer magnificent views.
