Convention & Trade Expo held Aug. 8-9, 2018 at Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, FL.  Jennifer Bailey, Cindy Forstall, Sue Crowley, Joe Crowley, Linda Irvine and Drew Irvine all attended the annual event.

Realtors from around the state came to the convention to discuss key issues that shape their profession and the state association.  Members had a choice of more then 40 education sessions topics like best business practice, investment strategies for Realtors and new trends in real estate.  Following the convention, Realtors took part in Florida Realtors’ Governance Meetings held from Aug. 10-12, 2018.

The convention featured “America’s Got Magic” during the general session, showcasing three acts that have performed on the hit TV shows “America’s Got Talent” and “Penn & Teller Fool Us”: comedy magician Mac King, magician Derek Hughes and the Mentalists, the Evasons.  Convention attendees also enjoyed the music of “Party on the Move” during the Dance Party, then were entertained by magician Ryan Oakes at the annual Awards Luncheon, which honors Realtor excellence and service.  This year’s Trade Expo featured more than 200 industry experts and exhibitors showcasing the latest marketing, technology and other business tools.

Dale Sorensen Real Estate Supports Students with Annual Back to School Drive

 

Sales agents and staff at Dale Sorensen Real Estate (DSRE) understand the importance of education for young students, and they realize that not every student attending school in Indian River County have the means to get the supplies they need for school.  The DSRE Annual Back-to-School-Drive helps give these students backpacks, pencils, pens, crayons, notebooks, folders, paper and school uniforms and more so they can focus on learning and not worry about where the basic supplies are going to come from.

“Every child deserves an education and we are proud to give kids the needed school supplies to better handle their workload and succeed academically,” said Dale Sorensen Jr. “Each of us at DSRE believes in making a difference our community, especially families and children.   Local philanthropy is something we are committed to everyday here at DSRE.  I’m thankful to the community for helping to support this drive and proud of our agents and staff for their continued dedication to those in need.”

Dale Sorensen Real Estate (DSRE) is pleased to announce that multi-million-dollar Top-Producing sales agent Eva McMillan recently completed the closing on a listing in which she represented both the buyer and the seller. Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate members from across the globe convened in South beach, Florida in May for the 16th Annual Luxury Real Estate Spring Retreat. Attendees heard from a variety of accomplished presenters, connected with industry leaders and discussed the latest trends regarding luxury real estate around the world. The esteemed event culminated with a festive Cuban-themed closing party, honoring Lifetime Achievement Award recipients Dale and Matilde Sorensen and their many accomplishments in the industry.

 

BROKER Q&A

Dale and Matilde Sorensen: Dale Sorensen Real Estate, Inc.

How did you start real estate?

MS: I owned a quaint little store on the Barrier Island and I was helping Dale with his real estate company when I decided to become a Realtor® myself. It worked well as we also had two young children with busy schedules. I’ve also really loved interior design and home décor so it was a perfect fit for me. That was 40 years ago and I haven’t regretted it for one minute.

DS: I started Dale Sorensen Real Estate in 1978 out of necessity – I needed a job. The large company I worked at for 10 years was moving out of the area and we did not want to relocate. My responsibilities with them included managing their real estate interest in Florida and their resort properties in the Dominican Republic, so I had to obtain my broker’s license. After a lot of discussion with Matilde and our family, we decided to go into business ourselves.

What are you favorite parts of your job?

MS: I love meeting new people and getting to know them and their families. It’s fun sharing everything that Vero Beach has to off

er; this is a growing community, but it’s never lost its small-town feel. I love going into homes and learning all the specifics about each one and what makes it unique and special.

What makes your company stand out?

DS: Since our inception, we have made community service a priority. We are company, and a family, that gives back to the community in many ways. In addition, we have created a very recognizable brand, not only in our area, but throughout the industry; for this we are indebted to our children, Dale Jr. and Elizabeth. We are noted for our creative marketing programs and cutting-edge technology. Two of they key elements that bind all this together are our reputation for fairness and honesty along with the level of service we provide our customers. In very simple terms – you reap what you sow.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

DS: Outside of work I enjoy fishing and diving with my grandson, JD, and son, Dale Jr. I still play little tennis and play golf regularly. Matilde and I love to travel and to have been fortunate to have traveled all over the world.

Where are you favorite places to travel?

DS: Italy – especially Tuscany and Venice, Napa Valley, Burgundy, London, Paris and Hong Kong.

What inspires you to succeed?

MS: It’s the people that inspire me to succeed. Success to me is when I hand over the keys to a home and see the looks on the new homeowner’s face; that look of pride and ownership. Or when I’m able to tell a seller that I found a buyer for their home. I don’t feel like I sell homes – I develop a relationship with clients based on their personalities and find them the perfect home.
