THOUSANDS ATTEND 3RD ANNUAL VERO BEACH EASTER PARADE

 

VERO BEACH FL/APRIL 2019 – Ocean Drive was hopping when thousands attended the 3rd Annual Vero Beach Easter Parade.  Hosted by Dale Sorensen Real Estate and presented by Bill and Mary Ann Becker the popular event included a children’s Easter Egg Hunt, free photos with the Easter Bunny, a Golf Cart Parade, and a “New York Style” Bonnets and Ball Caps Parade.

A total of twenty-five thousand plastic eggs filled with treats only took the hundreds of children attending just minutes to clear the field. The egg hunt was sponsored by The George E. Warren Corporation.

Winners of the Bonnets and Ball Caps costume included Vanessa Foster in the Children’s division and Stephanie Hart in the Adult division.  Golf cart parade winners included:  the Schneider family for Best of Vero; Lori Higdon for Most Easter Spirit; Complete Marine Services for Most Humorous; and Market Square for Most Original.  Golf Carts of Vero Beach sponsored the parade. Prize sponsors were White Orchid Spa, Lily Pad Vero Beach, Egg and Friends and Creative Carpet One.

“For three years in a row, the parade and event have been successful beyond our expectations,” said Matilde Sorensen, who came up with the idea.  “The children have such a wonderful time hunting for Easter eggs, doing the arts and crafts and taking pictures with the Easter Bunny.  The golf cart parade and Bonnets & Ballcaps contest is fun for those participating and watching.  We’re so happy the community supports this event so whole heartedly.”

Dale and Matilde Sorensen: Dale Sorensen Real Estate, Inc.

How did you start real estate?

MS: I owned a quaint little store on the Barrier Island and I was helping Dale with his real estate company when I decided to become a Realtor® myself. It worked well as we also had two young children with busy schedules. I’ve also really loved interior design and home décor so it was a perfect fit for me. That was 40 years ago and I haven’t regretted it for one minute.

DS: I started Dale Sorensen Real Estate in 1978 out of necessity – I needed a job. The large company I worked at for 10 years was moving out of the area and we did not want to relocate. My responsibilities with them included managing their real estate interest in Florida and their resort properties in the Dominican Republic, so I had to obtain my broker’s license. After a lot of discussion with Matilde and our family, we decided to go into business ourselves.

What are you favorite parts of your job?

MS: I love meeting new people and getting to know them and their families. It’s fun sharing everything that Vero Beach has to off

er; this is a growing community, but it’s never lost its small-town feel. I love going into homes and learning all the specifics about each one and what makes it unique and special.

What makes your company stand out?

DS: Since our inception, we have made community service a priority. We are company, and a family, that gives back to the community in many ways. In addition, we have created a very recognizable brand, not only in our area, but throughout the industry; for this we are indebted to our children, Dale Jr. and Elizabeth. We are noted for our creative marketing programs and cutting-edge technology. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

DS: Outside of work I enjoy fishing and diving with my grandson, JD, and son, Dale Jr. I still play little tennis and play golf regularly. Matilde and I love to travel and to have been fortunate to have traveled all over the world.

Where are you favorite places to travel?

DS: Italy – especially Tuscany and Venice, Napa Valley, Burgundy, London, Paris and Hong Kong.

What inspires you to succeed?

MS: It’s the people that inspire me to succeed. Success to me is when I hand over the keys to a home and see the looks on the new homeowner’s face; that look of pride and ownership. Or when I’m able to tell a seller that I found a buyer for their home. I don’t feel like I sell homes – I develop a relationship with clients based on their personalities and find them the perfect home.
